Upcoming events: Where to go and what to do :-)
Back to the blog list

There’s nothing better than Malta in summer for me. The heat, the stunning beaches, beautiful blue seas, festivals, parties and general happiness. Although most of the summer has passed, there are still many things to look forward to. Here are a few events coming up in the next week that I would personally recommend 🙂

Feast of St Helen- Birkirkara 19/08 – 21/08
The feast of St. Helen is celebrated in the town of Birkirkara in Malta. The programme of events includes the Statue being taken out and put on display with pageantry, band marches, Mass, concerts, food stalls and fireworks. The highlight is normally on the Sunday around midday when the statue is taken around the centre of the town amongst bands playing, pageantry, and the locals in their Sunday best.

The Delicata Classic Wine Festival- Nadur, Gozo- 19/08 – 21/08
The Delecata Classic Wine festival moves to Gozo this weekend. It’s simple: entrance is free, but if you want to drink, all you need to do is purchase one of the souvenir glasses and a wristband. These items will give you access to all the bars at the festival. Enjoy trying out and tasting over 20 different wines to your hearts content.
Visit the festival and enjoy local talent, amazing wines and fantastic food. Not to be missed.

The Malta Summer Carnival- Bugibba and Marsaskala- 19/08 – 20/08
The summer carnival will be held in two different towns- Bugibba in the North and Marsaskala in the South, on different days. The parade will be held in Marsaskala but most of the programme will be in Bugibba. The carnival will include floats, seven dance companies, stalls and activities for all the family.

The summer carnival is organised in collaboration with the Arts Council with the support of Valletta 2018 Foundation, the Malta Tourism Authority and the local councils where the carnival is taking place.
