Seol Ah Choi, South Korea, August 2020
Back to the blog list

My name is Seol Ah Choi. I’m from South Korea and I’ve been studying at AM Language school for 11 months. First of all, I got a recommendation from my agency. Then I found some review about AM Language and I saw that It has good education system and has a family feel. When I came to Malta, my English was zero. So at the beginning, I started at Elementary. After I started to studying at school and step by step my English began improving. Now my level is Upper-Intermediate! Since I’ve been through 4 levels, I’ve met many teachers. Among them I really like Mandy and Lisa’s teaching style. They balance all part of learning English (like a Listening, Writing, Speaking, Reading) during lessons. In addition, they’re really friendly. In my opinion, they are one of the best teachers in the school. Sometimes I studied at home with my flatmates and, also, we watched English movies. The most challenging part for me was the speaking. I broke my fear of speaking in English and I’m not afraid of speaking with foreigner anymore! Even If I make mistakes. In class, I was able to speak with classmates who are from other countries. I could understand and learn about different kinds of cultures. It was one of the most beautiful moments in my life and the awesome thing is that I’m still in touch with them! I really enjoyed every single day in Malta. The most memorable experience is making friends from other countries. Nowadays, I have friends all over the word. It’s worth it for me! I’d like to advise people who want to learn English: “Don’t be afraid. Just do it!” English is just a language. Even though you can’t speak English we’re able to communicate our feelings even in horrible English. Don’t hesitate. Just do it! I know It’s difficult to go abroad. Especially from Asia. However, you can do it because I did it. If you make some mistakes, don’t worry and blame yourself. English isn’t your language. It’s normal. If you enjoy studying English, you can develop yourself and have an incredible experience!
