I have been in Malta for three weeks now but in total, I will be here for one month. I am here to further improve my English skills, especially speaking.
At the beginning, I started in the upper-intermediate class but next week I will change to the advanced level.
I am only here for a few weeks but still, I think that my English speaking skills have already improved a little.
When I started, my teacher was Simone and I think she is an excellent teacher. I always said to others that I wished I’d had a teacher like her during high school. I liked that she gave us the opportunity to speak to other students in the class and really get to know each other. She makes learning English fun. As I’m not changing courses until next week, I don’t know who my teacher will be yet.
I don’t have many problems concerning grammar or listening but speaking was always a little tough for me because you have to produce English spontaneously. However, due to the speaking exercises in class, I learned to be more confident concerning my speaking.
The activities offered by the school are great. There is a new activity program every week. My favourite school activity so far was the South of Malta tour because we visited many beautiful places in nature, such as the Blue Grotto or St. Peter’s Pool. Therefore it was also my most memorable experience in Malta so far. However, I haven’t been able to see all the places in Malta yet.
One piece of advice for those looking forward to learn English in Malta is surround yourself with English-speakers, engage in conversations with locals, and try to speak English as much as possible. Additionally, take advantage of the many activities offered by the school. It is the fastest way to connect with other people from all around the world.
