LEVEL 1 AWARD IN EMPLOYABILITY
AIM
The aim of the Level 1 Award in Employability is to provide candidates with the knowledge, understanding and skills to develop their employability and appeal to prospective employers
The GA Employability qualifications recognize the development of candidates’ persona knowledge to operate independently in work and life and allow them to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills while they are in, or preparing to enter the world of work and provide an essential foundation to their working life.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but learners are expected to have knowledge of English language equivalent to CEFR level B1.
Structure
In order to achieve the GA Level 1 Award in Employability, candidates must achieve a minimum of 7 credits at Level 1 including at least 4 credits from units in Group A. The remaining credits can be taken from units in Group A or Group B

Assessment
The GA Level 1 Award in Employability is assessed via a portfolio of evidence consisting or written tasks, observations, notes and Q&A. Completed portfolios are then internally assessed by Centre teaching staff and verified by BCED. They are then made available to the GA External Verifier for final decision on learners’ success.

Units are assessed in the context of the world of work. Knowledge criteria should be met by candidates making reference to the world of work and/or their workplace. Skill criteria should be assessed in realistic conditions likely to be found in the workplace.
There are no further additional or special evidence or assessment requirements for these units/qualifications
Candidates are assessed on PASS/REFER basis – there is no grading.
