Mother’s Day
Top 4 gifts for your mum!
Mother’s Day is on May the 12th, and it’s an opportunity to thank your Mum for everything that she does, and the person that she is. Here are our top 4 recommended gifts that you can get your mum for this Mother’s Day.
- Symbolic
Something that is symbolic is something that has a lot of meaning. Perhaps finding her something that has a lot of meaning is just the gift you should get your mum. Maybe it is something that would remind her of you as a child, or her as a younger woman. A symbolic gift shows that you have thought a lot about the gift.
- Yourself
If you haven’t seen your mum in a long time, perhaps the best present you could give her is yourself and your time. She probably misses you a lot, and if you make the effort to spend time with her then that might be a gift that would mean the world to her. The phrase, ‘mean the world’, means that she would absolutely love the present.
- Something that smells nice
If your mum likes perfume and fragrances, then we recommend you go to Franks in Sliema to choose a nice smelling fragrance from their excellent selection. Otherwise, she might appreciate a lovely bouquet of sweet-smelling flowers.
- Spa therapy
Mums work really hard and they bear a lot of stress, so a lovely idea would be to treat your mother to a relaxing session at a spa, or to book her a lovely massage. When you treat somebody to something, it means that you give them something that they will enjoy.
3 gifts you shouldn’t get your Mum!
- Socks
No one has ever jumped up and down because they got a pair of socks as a present. You could argue that a sandwich would be thought as a much better present than socks. If you get your mum socks, you are saying that you really don’t know what to get her.
- Pens
Unless it is a very nice pen, don’t get your mum a pen. It will look like you haven’t thought about the present, and it doesn’t say, ‘thank you Mum.’
- Mugs
You should also avoid buying your mum a mug. She probably has lots of mugs to drink tea or coffee from, and again, it shows that you haven’t thought about the gift.
